Renovation Update on the Main Lounge Project
Proceeding as scheduled, the Main Lounge Project is now in the bidding and evaluation phase. The Facilities Oversight Committee (FOC) has shortlisted contractors for the project (Aura Builders, Arkonstruktura, Conmech Construction and Pampanga Block Builders) and all bids are currently being evaluated by the Project Manager.
Bids are checked and verified per item to ensure completeness and accuracy of the proposals. The bid items are likewise reconciled by the Project Manager with each shortlisted contractor to guarantee fair chance for all in the bidding process.
Construction will commence on April 16, 2012. The Main Lounge and all its adjacent areas will be closed and boarded up. Among the affected areas include:
b. Trophy Room, Presidents Room, old lobby and portion of the new lobby including the handicap ramp going to the library. A single main lobby will be provided to facilitate access from the new lobby to the Main Lounge and old lobby.
c. The Sports Café will be closed for a certain period to give way to the construction of the Main Lounge bar, dressing room and handicap restroom.
The Nanten restaurant and bar located at the Willow Root will remain open until its scheduled refurbishment by May 1, 2012.
A four-month timetable is estimated for the whole renovation project with a target completion date by August.
